Can someone give me some advice for a poem I'm writing? Please help!?

Can you use alive and I as a rhyming sentance? For example: You and I are both alive. Is that acceptable in writing a poem? Or does that violate rules for poetry writing. I know in a song it doesn't matter but what about a poem?
