Help with marriage proposal?

I am planning on asking my girlfriend to marry me soon. I'm not really good with the romantic stuff so I'm requesting a little help. She lives in Texas and I live in Florida. I was thinking I would go to Texas without her knowing. I was thinking I would be waiting in her bedroom when she gets home from work with some roses and rose petals. Maybe a few candals as well. I figure she would be pretty shocked to see me and I would ask her to marry me. I was going to put the rose petals in the shape of a heart on the ground with the ring in the middle. Does this sounds romantic or even a good idea? Would you like this if you are a girl? Thanks
